The Catacombs

Wilson: Wizard, come to Scotland Yard in Marleybone immediately! Something dreadful has happened!

You travel to Marleybone and find Wilson standing in front of a hole in a wall with smashed bars littering the ground.

Wilson: Thank heavens you’ve arrived! I was afraid we were going to have to send more of our police dogs in there! It seem the the most dangerous villain (besides Morganthe) is at large again. Lord Dauthdaert, king of the werecats, has escaped from his cell late last night. He was in prison because he tried to summon the myth titan, the legendary two-headed dog, the Orthrus. The Orthrus would lay destruction across the spiral! We are afraid that he might attempt it again. Right now, that evil cat has retreated deep within the catacombs of Marleybone to finish the ritual. You must stop him before it is too late! Be careful: he has surely hasn’t left the way unguarded!

As you enter, you see a cyclops, bigger than any of the cyclops you’ve ever seen!

The Gatekeeper: I am in Lord Dauthdaert’s debt, and bound to death to serve him. I am sorry; you must die, wizard.

The Gatekeeper: rank 15 myth boss. 27,500 health. Starts with 5 power pips. 80% resistant to myth. 20% boost to storm and death.
Spells: Myth blade, spirit blade, myth trap, spirit trap, infallible, time of legend, infection, earthquake, orthrus, medusa, basilisk, celestial calendar.

After you defeated the gatekeeper, there is a gaping tunnel downward.

As you step through the tunnel you see three other tunnels. The middle tunnel is blocked off by some magical barrier. It seems that the magical barrier is connected to the other four tunnels. Your only choice is to see whats in the other tunnels.

Left tunnel: The tunnel ends in a room with a gang of four, vicious looking cat bandits.

Cat Bandits: Who are these little kittens thinking they can play with the big boys? Ha. Lord Dauthdaert picked us to guard a fourth of the magical barrier.

Cat Bandits: rank 15 balance elite. 7,000 health. After you defeat the cat bandits the connection the magical barrier had to the cat bandit diminishes.

Right tunnel: The tunnel ends in a room with a lone obsidian colossus chained to the ground.

Fienster the Lonely: Why have you come? Lord Dauthdaert has bound my life force to a forth of that magical barrier. I wish not to hurt you but if you want to rid of the barrier I will defend it, as I defend my life.

Back in the main room, the magical barrier is gone, but an array of stone statues have appeared. Oddly, all of them have a look of horror on their faces.

Puzzle book: Don’t look into the eyes of the snake. Only if you have a mirror.

This puzzle is where there is a maze of statues, all of them different creatures. There are also snake statues in the maze. You cannot walk in front of these statues or you will trigger a battle. There is a clear path through to the tunnel, but you have to walk in front of snakes. There is a less obvious path which will lead you to a mirror. Then, with the mirror you can walk in front of snakes without triggering them. If you trigger the snakes, you will face medusa and her sisters, the two gorgons.
